Improvisation at work. The last two shows were
recorded during overnights in Salt Lake City. I bring the microphone,
cabling and mixer with me. They stuff nicely into my inline skates. As long
as I can scrounge up a good internet connection this works well.
For the technically interested: The key to
improving sound quality was a connector that takes the combined mixer output
and feeding it back into one of the mixer's two channels. This is required
because, although the mixer had audio from the computer, it only put it on
the output bus and never sent it back into the record channel. Levels are
adjusted so there is no feedback and full, high fidelity volume can be
achieved. Of course then we compress the snot of it so that it downloads
quickly.

while the guests are finishing. We and apologize for the inconvenience. We
HAVE figured out how to improve the levels and the music will be redone to
be at a lower volume. Starting with this show, automatic gain control is
being applied to bring up the quieter guests and tone down the louder hosts.
